Bioinformatician Translational Oncology

Bioinformatician Translational Oncology

Jouw functie

We are looking for a bioinformatician in the field of translational gastrointestinal oncology.
There is an unmet clinical need to better stratify stage II and III colon cancer patients for treatment with adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT). DNA mutations affect tumor biology, disease prognosis and treatment response. We are collecting large cohorts of stage II and III colon cancer patients for extensive tumor-tissue DNA mutation profiling and post-surgical blood-derived circulating tumor DNA analysis, to improve patient stratification for ACT. Your tasks involve analysis of large genomics datasets by running existing and developing novel workflows; optimizing and standardizing data flows; interacting in a multidisciplinary team at the interface of research and diagnostics.
This multidisciplinary project is lead by Remond Fijneman (NKI, Translational Gastrointestinal Oncology group; head Gerrit Meijer) in close collaboration with Geraldine Vink (UMCU and IKNL, clinical studies) and the company Personal Genome Diagnostics (Baltimore, USA).
